Game II: Game Jam

This weekend was spent getting my thoughts together for Game 2. I spent the majority getting the controls down and trying to figure out exactly what those controls are. The idea for this game is that you're a small kid trying to get as much candy as you can on Halloween night, using platformer like game play. Instead of making this a full on Mario like platformer thought, I'm combining platformer like levels with the simplicity of an endless runner. You're always moving, running and all you have to do is jump. Unlike most endless runners however, I've added the verticality of a platformer, adding another layer of choice to how you get through a level.

I also spent the weekend doing some visual exploration into the overall look and feel for the game. Below is the direction I'm leaning towards, more detail needs to be added but I like the overall feeling this is approaching.

More to come as things progress.

Game II: Begining

I've started working on my second game. Giving myself a challenge of finishing it in time for Halloween. Like Riding Waves it will be a very simple game, but I plan on offering a lot more customization this time.

I'm also going to take my first stab at hand making levels.

More to come.

Game I: Released

Riding Waves available free on iOS

Riding Waves is a simple game of avoiding objects as you speed along the ocean. Along the way you can collect coins that allow you to unlock the two other boats available in the game.
